A cannon guards it Charlottes and Mecklenburg Counties oldest home is located here. The owner a Blacksmith and later a farmer helped draft the first NC State Contitution when he served in the Fifth Provincial Congress. Unlike most early homes in Charlotte, this one was built of stone and as a result exists today. Completed in Oct 1774 it was restored in 1949 by the Daughters of the Revolution and opened to the public in 1969. The cannon, well, I think that was added just for effect. Even better than a Real Find at the cannon would be a VRC Real Find at the German inspired house. Shamrock Hezekiah Alexander House

Got it! I actually was thinking about using this spot, but a photo sphere as a VRC a while back but never pulled the trigger because Meck had enough VRCs at the time. The cannon is pointed right at me! Yikes.

Someday I'll get out here to see this for real...not just from the couch!

Stopped by today to check this out since I was out and about. Couldn't stay long because there are more VRCs to find!

Hope this pic works. Couldn't get a legit street view, so I went 360... I grew up in the neighborhood across the street, off of Shamrock. This brings back memories! I only ever went to this location once, with my older sister. I'll have to take another trip to get the real pic!
