Monumental Aside from the Court House and the Town Clock this purely Southern think is often a part of the scenery A Confederate Monument of some sort. This historic Confederate Monument erected in May 10,1905 was designed by McNeil Marble Company of Gainesville, Georgia. The same granite was used to build the lower section of the Washington Monument. Standing 41 feet high it was erected at the town square to honor the men who gave their lives for the Confederacy. Public unveiling took place on June 27, 1905 Main St. Chester Streetview Images Google

In the 1980’s a miniseries was produced from the Stuart Woods novel, Chiefs, and was filmed right on this spot in Chester County. It starred Charlston Heston, Billy Dee Williams, Stephen Collins. I lived in Spartanburg, SC at the time and drove over to watch the filming a couple of times.

This is my first one of these. I am a sucker for cyber caches and have over 100+ finds on Terrracaching.com. So when I saw @cash108 said in a forum that these are similar to cybers I had to check it out, and I'm glad I did! A quick find for me.

These confederate monuments are slowly becoming memories. Politics aside, I'm glad I can grab this virtual, and hopefully will be able to get the real pic. Virtual:
